In Memory of Trooper Patrick Ambroise
 
Miami Dade County: We regret to inform you that on the evening of Saturday, May 15, 2010 at approximately 8:39 PM. Trooper Patrick Ambroise, 35 years old, husband to Roberta, and father of two girls, age 5 years old and 3 months old, was killed while on-duty as a State Trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol, Serving the Citizens of Florida. Trooper Ambroise death was the result of a fiery two vehicle crash, northbound on the Turnpike in Miami Dade County.

Trooper Patrick Ambroise was driving a 2006, Ford, Crown Victoria, and was parked on the right shoulder of the Turnpike facing northbound in the area just north of the Okeechobee interchange in western Miami Dade County.  A 1995, Black, two door, Lexus, SC300, was northbound on the Turnpike, driven by Jonathan Robert Garcia, H/M, Dob 03-30-1991, of 15246 SW 21 Place, Miramar, Fl 33027. The driver of the Lexus veered from the northbound travel lane onto the shoulder and struck the rear of the parked patrol car with the front of the Lexus.  Trooper Ambroise was trapped in his patrol car as a result of the collision and the vehicle became engulfed in flames.  Trooper Ambroise was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was transported by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma Center by helicopter with serious but stable injuries sustained in the crash. The Crash remains under investigation.

Trooper Patrick Ambroise began his career with the Florida Highway Patrol as a graduate of the 111th recruit class in Tallahassee on January 12, 2006.  He was assigned to Troop K, Miami upon graduation where he has been serving since.
